A new jailbreak for iOS 11.2 -11.3.1 has being released in the past few hours. This jailbreak has being released by a jailbreak developer called Coolstar under the name “Electra”.
Update: Please use “Electra 11.3.1 Multipath” instead of “Electra 11.3.1”, if your installing from Tweakbox as it will increase the success rate of the Jailbreak.
To use this jailbreak you either need to either use a third-party application, or a computer.
If your using a computer you can sideload it with the information provided on the Electra website at https://www.coolstar.org/electra/. This will work regardless if you have a developer account or not.
If you don’t have access to a computer or your not familiar with side-loading, you can install Electra through the use of a third party application.
The application you will need to use is called ‘Tweakbox” and can be installed from https://TweakBoxApp.com. Once you have installed Tweakbox, launch the application from your home screen.
Once you have launched the application, close any advertisements and click the tab named ‘Apps’, from here click ‘TweakBox Apps’.
Once you have opended this page, locate and app called ‘Electra 11.3.1 Multipath’. Install this app by clicking the install button when prompted.
Once you have installed the app open ‘settings’ on your phone/tablet and go to ‘general’ then ‘Profile & Device Management’ scroll to the bottom of the list and click the profile which has a name you don’t recognise.
Click ‘Trust Developer’ twice when given the option and close settings once an option called ‘Delete App’ appears.
Now you can launch the Electra application from your home screen. To use Electra you click the jailbreak button, and allow your device to reboot, do this process 2 more times and you should have Cydia after the third reboot.
It is recommended to enable airplane mode and turn off passcode security to pervent any errors occurring during the jailbreak process. Once the process is complete, you can re-enable these features.
If the process fails, you should re-try the jailbreak in the Electra app as described above, as there’s currently only a 70% success rate.
A video tutorial has being produced on YouTube which is shown below this article, if you wish to watch a visual demonstration:
